HAPPY NATIONAL ALOPECIA AWARENESS MONTH!! When I was 11 years old I was diagnosed with stress induced alopecia. Alopecia is an autoimmune disorder that causes the immune system to attack my hair follicles. Basically, the more stressed I get, the more I lose my hair. When I was 12 and 13 years old my stress became so bad that I was about 99% bald. People would tell me not to stress, but how are you not supposed to stress when you’re losing your hair?!?!😂 When I was about 14 years old, everything started looking up. I was sick and tired of being self conscious and I began to be much more open about it to the world. To my surprise, as my self confidence grew, so did my hair!! Now I can proudly say there’s hair on every single part of my head :)) But the fact that I have hair now doesn’t make me more beautiful than I was before; pure beauty comes from within. So to anyone out there struggling with hair loss, whether it’s alopecia, cancer, trichotillomania, etc., you’re GORGEOUS. Never let anyone tell you otherwise✨it makes us unique! How many people can say they went bald and back? Not many😂 While it may have caused much distress, alopecia changed my outlook on life and made me become a happier, more understanding person :) You never know what kind of mental health issues people are dealing with or what’s going on in their life behind closed doors, so I hope everyone looks at this post and remembers to be kind today, tomorrow, and always💕

Thank you to all of the amazing people in my life who have supported me through my journey. You know who you are!! Here’s a special thank you to my mom, sister, and brother. You guys have supported me endlessly. Whether it be for my alopecia, school, or sports. You’ve always been there for me every step of the way. I love you all with my whole heart❤️

Also here’s a major shoutout to madisonmarieparrish ! Even though I’ve never met her before, she inspired this post. She made me realize alopecia is nothing to be ashamed of. I’m so proud of you girlfriend. Keep inspiring the world you beautiful girl❤️🌍 #alopeciaawarenessmonth
