I was sent to Washington to serve you, not myself. And I certainly wasn’t elected to give myself and other members of Congress a pay raise. That's why I bucked leadership in both parties by helping to kill a proposed pay hike for Congress earlier this year. Congress should be focused on ways to tackle the rising cost of healthcare and our skyrocketing $23 trillion national debt, not raising our own pay.
