Lurking in the swamps of Sudan, slowly stalking its prey, is an ominous predator. 🌾 While shadowing its target, the Shoebill often remains motionless, awaiting the opportunity to unleash a quick, but violent strike. Using the sharp edges in its mandible (beak) the bird decapitates its prey and then goes about its day. #BirdistheWord 🦅
