Asia | Out of the five species of tapir, the Malayan tapir is the only one native to Asia. These long-snouted mammals have very poor eyesight, so they rely heavily on their excellent sense of smell and hearing. Their bad eyesight makes foraging for food an added challenge at night, especially when predators might be lurking by. But they make do!
