In this picture forrest.galante is holding up 2 #African helmeted turtles from #Zimbabwe. The reason Forrest finds these nondescript turtles so incredibly fascinating, is that it has recently been documented that #warthogs, #rhinos and many other large mammals actually use these turtles as a way to remove parasites! Forrest tells us that some mammals go to #wallowing holes where these #turtles live in order for the turtles to pick off the ticks and flies from the animals for the turtle to eat. A perfectly symbiotic relationship between some very unlikely creatures. .
