University of Richmond distance runner Kate McAndrew (Denville, N.J.) was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Track Rookie of the Week (April 12-18).

McAndrew won the 800m at the JMU Invitational, setting both the meet and facility records with her winning mark of 2:09.52. Her performance broke the 2014 record of 2:10.40 set be Lindsay Prettyman (Delaware).
