Facebook told me it is World Photography Day today, so I thought I'd reflect a bit on all the cool shit these cameras and photography have done for me. It's taken me to all new parts of the country, to countless shows, entry into some of the most important moments of people's lives. But the coolest thing photography has brought me are the friends I've made because of it and through it, whether they found their way in front of my lens, or we just nerded out over gear/film/whatever together, the friends I've made because of photography are some of the best friends I have.

So here is one of those friends. I met Jamie photographing IKTPQ in Austin and became damn good friends after a couple of short touring runs, one in the winter, one on Warped, playing tons of video games, catching a Stars game, Flyers rookie camp, taking photos of bands, doing some ice skating. And now, getting ready for a trip to Australia to see this dude get married. Beyond stoked. Not just to see a whole new part of the world, but to be doing it to see one of my best friends getting married.  All from a series of events that originated with me picking up a camera in 2006. So stoked on where photography has taken me and where it continues to take me.

This frame was made just before IKTPQ took the main stage on Warped last summer just outside of Philly, so of course Jamie had to rep the Flyers on stage. It worked out well that they played early on the main stage so Jamie and I could run out and catch Flyers camp that afternoon.
