I had forgotten about this photo until, well, today, and it seemed perfect for posting for a little throwback on a Thursday. It's rad when you're able to make a frame like this in the span of just a few seconds, shooting three frames, in the dark, on a freight elevator back stage during load out with a crew you had just met right as they came off stage. 
Jordan and I had driven up from Austin on Easter Sunday to make sure we caught this show, saw some friends out touring with another band on the bill, and catch and photograph Night Verses' set for the rad folks over at Equal Vision. I had gotten an email a few weeks before their show saying I should check them out and that I would probably dig their sound. That was so damn spot on. Such a solid set and a pretty unique sound, capped off with being rad enough to let me grab this quick frame after their set.

Gear wise, this felt like absolutely the perfect time to run the Leica. It was super dark and I would have been riding the struggle bus massively if I tried to make this frame on the Pentax (yes, my favorite camera does have a pitfall or two), and an SLR may have worked, but running that shutter at close to 1/8s or so, probably not. So there I was, running the Leica, shooting on the Voigtlander 35 1.4 because it was just too packed with gear to make a 50 work, and shooting my go to Tri-X.
