It's pretty dang incredible to be able to meet someone that has made music that you have listened to for 10+ years. I've been listening to New Found Glory pretty consistently for at least that long. I didn't get to see them live until probably 2008-2009, catching their set at Warped, but that cemented them into my all time favorites list for sure. Probably one of my all time favorite shows of theirs was one that was slated to be at The Loft, a venue above the restaurant at Southside Music Hall (Palladium Ballroom) at the time. Verse was supposed to be the first opener, but they broke up shortly before the Dallas date and were replaced by Shai Hulud and that wound up being the first time I saw them. Set Your Goals followed Shai Hulud and their set was mental and probably the most vivid memory I have from that show. In the middle of their set, I think shortly after Echoes, the whole crowd, a room packed wall to wall, was jumping in unison. Next thing you know, the set is being stopped and everyone ushered out of the venue and back to Gilley's. The jumping from the crowd had caused the floor to partially collapse. Then I got to see Bayside and NFG play a country bar. Both put on solid shows, and in spite of some lengthy delays from trucking all of the gear down to the new venue, the crowd stuck with it and it was a damn solid show.

It's pretty special when a band can stick with you, in constant rotation, for ten or more years. Pretty sure they'll be sticking around in that all time favorite line up for a very long time. Seeing them headline @sowhatmusicfest was also super rad. Seeing them playing a one off festival date for a fest I had been going to pretty much since its inception. A band I will always be stoked to see live.
