Figured it was only appropriate to share this image today, with It being the 10 year anniversary of Juturna (dang), and the band playing Coachella today. This photo is from Circa's amazing set at South by So What 8, one of four or five times I've had the opportunity to see them play, and the first time I was able to shoot.

The first time I was able to see them, I was in high school and saw them at The Door at its old location at Elm and Hall before they moved into the old Gypsy space. It was one of very few shows where I found myself pressed up against the stage with not intent to photograph anything, just to be there, be present in the moment, and enjoy the music. I'm so happy for that. Not being concerned about showing everyone where I am/was, and just being there. Circa was headlining with The Receiving End of Sirens as support. The show was unreal and won me over as a fan of Circa from that day forward.

Crazy part of the whole day shooting at SBSW was that since it was raining and I was only using my 50L (without a filter…), I had some fluid intrusion that was causing some difficulties getting the AF to go consistently through most of the afternoon. As soon as Circa got going, my AF started working normally again. Kinda nuts.
