Stray From The Path is one of those bands I've seen for years, but didn't really get into until recently. I remember seeing them years ago at The Door here in Dallas on a tour with Gwen Stacy and I'm not sure who else, but the same night Straylight Run was playing The Prophet Bar (essentially the same venue; same building, share bathrooms/hallway) and @alex_frostwolf and myself decided we should run over between sets to see if we could catch some of Straylight's set. We did. I got to see them perform Existentialism on Prom Night, easily one of my favorite songs by them, if not in general. Random, but related to Stray, right?

Well, I got to shoot Stray From The Path for the first time at Warped this year, and they did not disappoint. So much energy, even though a lot of the crowd had thinned out from the heat and to catch Yellowcard on one of the main stages. Drew didn't seem to give a shit though. He still brought tons of energy, jumping down to the barricade and getting the fans that were there into it. While it sucks seeing such a rad band playing to a smaller crowd than they deserve, I had a friend point out to me this weekend that, when shit like that happens, the fans that are there are totally present. They aren't checking Facebook, Instagram, twitter, they're just there. In the moment. Where you're supposed to be at a show.
