The next Tuesday I’ll be at work is three weeks from now 🤗. In the new year. Hopefully with some new dresses. ⁣

I’ve been looking through my planner a lot this month, and the back pages where I wrote out my intentions for the year. I made a list of “what I am saying yes to” and “what I am saying no to” in 2018. It’s interesting to see where I have succeeded and failed within the lists. My yes column is a lot of “new” — I want to say yes to new experiences, new places, new people, new opportunities. And the no is to a lot of the opposite. No to the things that don’t serve me. Seeking approval. The things that don’t spark joy. ⁣

I’ve stayed true to a lot of what I set out to do. But I felt some disappointment at the things I haven’t stood as firm on. Then I remembered — it’s still 2018. I can still say no or yes to these things. It’s not over. I still have a choice what I let in and how I live my life each and every day. ⁣
⁣
And then guess what: I can continue it next year. Make a new list. Decide some of my no’s are yes’s and yes’s might be no’s. Because as good as a new year feels, the end of something can feel just as bad. You’re not where you thought you’d be. Experienced more disappointments than accomplishments. But, you guys, the world keeps turning. Life keeps going. You have two weeks, and then the two after that. And after that and after that. It’s okay to try again. Say yes to that. It’s not over. -
