No wonder Napoli is such a dynamic city with the active volcano Mt. Vesuvius in its backyard. Napoli is having a big moment right now, and we could even say it’s experiencing a cultural evolution. Its name is on everyone’s lips and lists, including Time’s Greatest Places in the World! In the past, Napoli was usually a pizza pitstop on the way to the Amalfi Coast. Now young and passionate Neapolitans are taking history and tradition and making it new and accessible to visitors who’ve never stepped foot into this 3000-year-old ancient city. Napoli has everything to offer, from Greek ruins to Baroque architecture to contemporary street art. From the miraculous patron saint San Gennaro to the cult of Maradona, the so-called city’s saviour and most famous soccer player. Now with direct flights from the US, it’s even easier to visit the city. Already in Italy? Take an hour train ride from Rome and get your Neapolitan fix for the day or spend the night before your hit the coast or sail off to Ischia. Napoli is the future, you heard it here first.
