Advocate Laura Schlabach at Pomerene Hospital shared the importance of serving the Amish community. "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart." - Nelson Mandela. For the Amish, these languages are, Pennsylvania Dutch, English and high German. We are so grateful to have learned today about the ways the Amish community and Pomerene hospital have come together to respect and support one another.
