Happy Birthday, Grete Waitz! ✨ 
Did you know that Waitz played an integral role in the development of NYRR's youth programs? In 1998, she became the chair of the NYRR Foundation, which has evolved into Rising New York Road Runners (which is celebrating 20 years of free youth running this year). And she wasn’t merely a figurehead, she was actively involved, especially with children: She attended practices, ran with the kids, and cheered at their races when she was in NYC. 
We look forward to honoring Grete's legacy at this weekend's #GretesGreatGallop!
