Grateful for #marathon finish 4. I’m fine, just dehydrated (we carried plenty of nuunhydration with us, I had a hard time taking in liquid). 

Long story short-ish:
Ended up puking my guts out all morning at the starting village, do not recommend that at all. Most likely motion sickness and a huge temperature drop between Carmel and Big Sur. There was a huge headwind that the starters said was “small” around mile 6 until the end. Somehow rallied to run 11:45s through mile 15 and then had some crazy mild hypothermia symptoms from the wind and not being able to really eat anything solid. Did math (which is super hard when exhausted) to see if we could make the 21.2 cut off, and turns out we would probably make it. Made it to mile 21.2 and promptly walked the rest! Completely proud of it and will take my sub-6 and run the 21 miler in the future.

For those still reading- most likely had I not been dehydrated I would have a PR without having run consistently since I contracted the corona in August and a crazy work schedule. Not sure if that’s good or if all of the weight training and PT has finally paid off. Will see what happens at MCM.

Fun facts:
1. Me and dsondheim didn’t kill each other and survived! 
2. Saw my high school math teacher at the start, she was pacing a group in our corral.
3. Dan forgot he had gummy bears which probably saved me from miles 22 onward. 
4. I can now not worry about marathon training for 2 months!
