My wife Francesca_Laz and I went to Katmai National Park in Alaska back in August 2016 to get up close and personal with wild grizzly bears and it was one of the most surreal and thrilling adventures of our lives. An experience we will both never forget. Around that same time she introduced me to a phenomenal photographer and storyteller guru named Paul Nicklen. I instantly fell in love with not only his images but also his passion to help the environment and his way to tell stories to connect the two. Then a few years ago for my wife’s birthday I asked her what she wanted. She jokingly replied ‘nothing crazy, just bring me to the Arctic with PaulNicklen and Mitty.’ Of course that wasn't going to happen, so instead I tried bringing the Arctic to her by giving her one of our all-time favourite photographs of a polar bear peering in through a cabin window that Paul captured aptly titled 'Face to Face.' When I reached out to Paul to float the idea of him throwing some bear footage against my new instrumental song called ‘Maggie’ I never in my wildest dreams expected him to say yes. Not only did he say yes but he blew my highest expectations out of the water.
