The Central Park Bridle Path is one of New York City’s most iconic running routes. Without question, it is also New York City’s most popular trail. But unlike most famous trails, the FKT (fastest known time) on this route has yet to be established. All of that is about to change. Over the course of the next few weeks, we’re going to see just how fast someone can cover this five mile stretch of New York City dirt.

There is no entry fee or registration required. All you need is a GPS watch and a high tolerance for pain. Run the course, submit your time, and try to do it faster than your competition. Come September 7, the male and female runners who have posted the fastest times will each walk away with a $100 gift card from brooklynrunningco, and a Brooklyn Run Co. swag bag filled with apparel and accessories. The top ten male and female runners will also get a free pack of delicious beer from Evil Twin Brewing Company.
