Meet Catherine Kruppa, Sports Dietitian cathkruppa adviceforeating from Houston, Texas who has joined the Women’s Masters Field in what appears to be the best shape of her life.  In Round 1 she dropped an 11:41 (2 mile) and Round 2 a 5:31 (1 mile) positioning her as one of the favorites!

“Coming off of the PB's above from Dec-March, I wanted to keep up some sense of racing.  At 47 years old the clock is ticking for all time personal bests.  I want to take advantage of every opportunity.  5K is the shortest distance that I have ever raced so I thought it would be a fun challenge to see how fast I can run on the track. Beat the Heat has brought a feeling of community.  I love getting to know the other runners virtually, particularly the speedy Master's women.  Hats off to all of them!  It has also brought more purpose to my training and FUN!”

Asked about her goals for the remainder of the tournament: “My goal for Round 3/Round 4 is to hang on!  My biggest competition has always been the clock.  2 days before round 1 I tweaked my hamstring, which is unfortunate, so I am trying to run my best with what my body is able to do.  Good luck to all of the Master's ladies!”
