I took the time I needed to be sad and angry and disappointed and a lot of other emotions I had coursing through me after Friday night.......
Here are a few of my thoughts——
•competing in the CrossFit games has been a dream of mine for awhile and I’m incredibly thrilled and honored to have been a part of this year- and representing the US and carrying the flag during the opening ceremony was a truly awesome experience.🇺🇸💯 ••
•However the “awesome” stops right about there. Having this year be my rookie year at the Games was disappointing. I felt like I got cheated out a “real” games experience. My weekend got cut short. It’s a difficult pill to swallow that the grand finale to my season—the event i have trained all year for, ended up being a 2 day “test” where i was pretty much asked if I could run fast, run long, and run with weight. I feel as though i didn’t get to showcase anything besides my biggest weakness. ••
•along with the previous thought - I’m not ignorant to the fact that the CrossFit games will absolutely expose any weaknesses you have and it sure as hell exposed me. However, I feel as though the cuts that were made happened too soon and happened without truly testing “fitness”. ••
•through the disappointment and frustrations there was a MAJOR silver lining. I have so many wonderful people in my corner and I FELT the love and support this weekend. To my friends and family I thank you for everything you do and everything you did for me. And to my FANS—no one has better ones than I do❤️💯 you guys are incredible and I can’t wait to be back out on the floor next year with your cheers in my ears 🥰
•Of course this isn’t the finish I wanted. I will use every emotion I’ve been feeling for the past several days to fuel my fire for this upcoming year. This next year I will destroy my weaknesses. I will take no shortcuts. I will make no excuses. Until next year......
