Old news but good news for those who didn’t know, what safari aficionados have known for years. 

Our vision became reality long ago, where this area of spectacular beauty would once again be teeming with wildlife through responsible and sustainable eco tourism. 

Chiawa Camp is the pioneer safari operator in the Lower Zambezi National Park. 

Back in 1989 we saw few animals and views were fleeting. 

As founder members of Conservation Lower Zambezi and together with the National Parks Department a long and expensive journey commenced that has since resulted in the LZNP becoming one of Africa’s most prolific areas for wildlife. 

And for some years now, at least for those in the know, a bucket-list photographic safari. 

Did you know that LZNP was also the world’s first certified Carbon Neutral National Park, and that Chiawa Camp & Old Mondoro were the world’s first certified Carbon Neutral safari camps?

Others have since followed down the trails (both physical and metaphorical) that we have blazed as Chiawa Camp and Chiawa Safaris continue to lead the way. We wish that those that have followed share in our vision and actively contribute to the thriving of the Lower Zambezi National Park.
