May. I always love this month. I love thawing out and seeing the world in bloom. And looking back on the past 31 days, this May was the best one ever.

I made my race announcing debut with nyrr. I turned 34. I finally treated myself to a postpartum massage. I celebrated my first Mother's Day. Annie and I went for our first stroller run together. I ran the #PopularBKHalf. I was part of the launch of the todayshow and todayparents Modern Motherhood series. I recorded 13 episodes of the Ali on the Run Show with 17 different guests. I learned from irunfortheglory and diversewerun, I swooned over sarahall3 and ryanhall3, I cried with abril413 and notquiteknockedup, and I listened in awe as wicked.la, jessmovold, and marathonmother humbly shared their stories of strength, speed, and grit. And last night, after putting Annie to bed, I stayed up talking (on the record!) with erinstrout, lindsaycrouse, sarahlorgebutler, and fastwomen about the current state of the women’s running industry.

I became a lululemon gsplaza Ambassador. I went for hikes with my family. Annie laughed — like really, really belly laughed — for 20 minutes straight one day. I flew solo at home while boldceo traveled for work, and I realized how far I've come since the earliest days of motherhood, when I was terrified of being alone with my baby for even a few minutes. I made a few new friends! I smiled and had fun every single day. Maybe not all day, every day. But I can't remember a single time I cried this month. That little victory feels monumental.

Yesterday, a friend asked me what goals I'm working on right now. And I have a few things in mind, but I'm feeling pretty satisfied right where I am.

So thank you, May. You were so good to me. It was a long winter, but we're all thawed out now.
