Recent days have reminded us that the NBA (nba, thenbpa) is more than just basketball, as it is using its platform to bring about change.  

Motivation behind this video is to continue to increase awareness that black lives matter and to continue to encourage greater civic engagement for both local and national elections. 

Social justice messages used in this video come from the NBA approved messages worn on the back of player jerseys in the bubble.  

NBA player images used in this video come from momentous moments showing us that the NBA is more than just basketball (e.g LeBron James (kingjames) making his voice heard by giving back to our community with his I Promise School (ipromiseschool), Russell Westbrook (russwest44) making his voice heard by giving back to our community with the Russell Westbrook Why Not? Foundation (whynotfoundation), Bucks and NBA postponing playoff games leading to social justice action plans, Chris Paul (cp3 ) making his voice heard by organizing efforts to get NBA players registered to vote).

NBA teams in collaboration with When We All Vote (whenweallvote) and RISE (risetowin), have relaunched “Rally the Vote”, a nonpartisan coalition (made up of professional sports teams) dedicated to lowering barriers for fans to get to the ballot box and have their voices heard.
