🏈🏈 We start our Saturday with another Player Profile 🏈🏈

This time from a current part of our Womens Team and a Player who has come up through the club from Junior and Youth and is now our Head of Womens football. 

Name- Ellie Partington elliepartingtington

Position- Linebacker/ Titans Head of Women’s Football and Womens team manger

What drew you to American Football? 
Upon injuring me knee I had to stop competitive swimming and knew I needed something to get rid of pent up emotion, when my mum said no to rugby, my dad turned me to the Titans as he played as a teenager.

How did you start playing American Football?
I started playing for the U17’s mixed team at 15 as the only girl, I’ve worked my way through the club, playing women’s flag, mixed U19’s contact and being able to join the women’s team at 17! Even coaching along the way.

What makes the Titans a great team to play for? 
The family culture is like no other, I’ve met people I consider family and friends for life. Team spirit is what always kept me here and the amazing support of others.

Favourite football memory?
Beating Leeds on home ground!!!

Best advice you can give to someone new to the sport?

Give it a go! I never thought throwing my self at people could be fun, find what works for you, there really is a place for everyone on the team, no matter ability, size or age!!!

Anything else you want to share about yourself or the team?

Being part of a bigger community really is the missing piece, finding family and time for yourself is everything!!
