My name is Brian Reaves and I am a 40-year-old quadriplegic. 18 years ago, on the night before Mother's Day, I was involved in a life-changing car accident. I was active duty Navy, had deployed twice and was safely home here on U.S. soil when the unthinkable happened. I was in a single car rollover no more than 100 yards from the base when I broke my C7 vertebrae. Through all the different veterans programs I have been able to ski in Aspen, surf in San Diego, play hockey which was a big passion of mine prior to my accident, hand cycle, kayak and so many more activities I'd never thought possible while confined to a chair. These days you will find me married to the best woman in the world, advocating to new injuries, working out and living life the best I can. I am the same person I was the day before my accident just a little pudgier, and I come well equipped with a rolling chair attached to me. - Brian Reaves
