Join the movement and share your story today. #ReeveSeeUs | " My name is Charlie, but I’m also sometimes affectionately referred to as “Adventure Chuck” by my family. This is because I am much more than my disability and my family knows that adventures await me, just like any other kid my age! They sometimes purposely take me to do things that are thought of as difficult or off-limits for wheelchair users, simply because they want me to know from a young age that I can find ways to do things, even if they seem hard. 💪♿️ I am currently two years old, I have Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, and after surgery at one day old, I lost my movement from the hips down. That’s ok, though, because I now rock a wheelchair and get around great! My wheelchair is not sad, because it means freedom! I’ve also had several surgeries, and have gone through more physical trials than most adults. My surrogate birth mother and her husband and family fought to give me a life before I was born—despite lots of personal hardship—because she/they knew my life had value whether I would one day walk or not. And boy were they right! 🥰

My difficulties definitely don’t define me, though! I’m also super smart, talking in full sentences at the age of two. I am also a dab hand at my wheelchair, I have an AMAZING sense of humor, and I’m stubborn like you wouldn’t believe. 😂 I love pizza, animals, and anything with a steering mechanism. I’m definitely introverted, but I have an older brother named Oliver who is my best friend, and an amazing family and extended family that loves me dearly.
