Off the field kgatlanathe1st has had a profound impact on the lives of young South African’s with the creation of the kgatlana_foundation which creates more access to sports for girls and women in South Africa. The mission statement “Your success is my success” is powerful and shows her commitment to continue to positively influence the future of her country.

Kgatlana’s impact on the international stage is undeniable, having second most goals for her country out of anyone currently in the squad. Additionally, all of the team’s history making moments, she has been present, leading the way. In the 2019 World Cup, South Africa’s first appearance in the tournament, she scored their first goal. In 2022, she helped the team to win the African Cup of Nations. In the 2023 World Cup, her goal against Italy secured South Africa’s place in the knockout stages of the tournament.
