## Caption

POV: You just used your car seat's manual and vehicle manual to correctly install your child's car seat and you're ready to buckle them in. How do you know if they're safely fastened?

Try the pinch test!

Here's how:

1. Make sure the harness straps are at or slightly below your child's shoulders.

2. Make sure no straps are twisted.

3. Buckle and adjust the chest clip to be level with your child's armpits.

4. Tighten the harness.

5. Try to pinch the harness at your child's shoulders and hips.

If there is any slack between your fingers (i.e., you were able to pinch the material), the straps are not tight enough. Tighten and try again!
