And just like that, the 2017 season comes to an end. A long year of work put on display for one short weekend. I had anything but a smooth run at this year's crossfitgames and am extremely proud and happy that I was able to fight back to a 4th place finish. I think it was a valuable learning experience. 
Congratulations to mathewfras fikowski and rickygarard for their podium finishes. You were all outstanding and consistent all weekend. It's a privilege to get to compete alongside you. And beyond that congratulations to all of the athletes. The level of competition continues to elevate and we have been witness to some truly astounding feats of fitness from all of you this week. As an additional aside, it fires me up to have the podium be such an international affair this year. Especially for the men to have two Canadians in the top 4 two years in a row. I'm very proud 🇨🇦.
Thank you to crossfit and their swarms of volunteers and organizers who make these events run and take such good care of us. 
Thank you to all of the fans who came out to make the atmosphere in Madison as electric as it was. You braved the weather to be by our sides all week. We can't tell you how much it means. Without the community behind us and cheering us on we're just a bunch of dudes pumping iron and jumping over hay bales. 
Thank you to my sponsors for supporting me all year. 
Thank you mich_letendre for working with me this year. We have a lot to work on this year. 
Lastly, thank you to my family, who has never missed a regionals or games and my girlfriend mworkunhill for tolerating my ups and downs and long hours in the gym. You all mean so much. It truly does take a village.
