"Originally, I didn’t think I was going to go to UC San Diego and actually was set on attending UC Berkeley, but due to personal circumstances I ended up choosing UCSD to stay close to home. I was really worried that it wasn’t the right fit for me and that I wasn’t going to enjoy my experience, but as I started to get more involved on campus and meet new people I began to feel more at home. Now, after 2.5 years, I’ve met some of my best friends and have gotten the opportunity to be involved in so many cool and unique opportunities, and looking back I am so glad I chose UCSD and so grateful for all the experiences I’ve had here. I’ve been able to work in student government, residential life, a start-up mental health company, research labs, campus organizations, and even helped to teach classes, all of which I feel I wouldn’t have been able to do if I went to any other school. There’s so much to do here and so many experiences to have, so I would really recommend putting yourself out there and trying things that you may be nervous about. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and be curious!"
