At 10am tomorrow morning as part of his regular “People’s Question Time” series, the incumbent Mayor of London has been asked to address the following question by an Assembly Member:

“According to mayoral candidate Brian Rose, he and his crew were arrested and issued penalty notices for breaching lockdown regulations. Why were City of London Police operating outside their area, in the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police, and what knowledge did the Metropolitan Police have of this operation? Additionally, do you know why City of London Police intervened to stop a legitimate political activity in the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police in the Borough of Southwark?”

We believe that it is important to the democratic process that free and fair elections take place and that candidates can campaign in order to share their message and policies with voters, which is why it is more important than ever to hold our political leaders to scrutiny.

We demand that Sadiq Khan explains what he knew and why Brian Rose is the only candidate to be targeted in this way by these heavy handed, undemocratic measures.
