Spring is in the air and we've got the perfect yard care solution for you: a hungry gopher tortoise. Just kidding — you're unlikely to even find one as these animals spend around 80% of their lives underground. 

As this species' name suggests, the #gophertortoise is an expert at living underground — just like a gopher. Gopher #tortoises have shovel-like front legs and strong, thick back legs to help them dig intricate burrows. Yet despite their subterranean nature, gopher tortoises are in a fight for their lives as urban sprawl continues to destroy their rapidly dwindling habitat.
