• My first job out of college was as a nutrition consultant for jennycraigofficial. In my spare time I taught aerobics and spinning classes at the local gyms. I still work out every day. For me it’s like brushing my teeth...the only way to start the day and a habit I just can’t break. I also have a chocolate-chip-cookie-a-day habit I can’t break. #balance
• I live in a little town called Rancho Santa Fe {it’s a little bit like Mayberry} with my husband, three daughters, a boy dog and a coop full of chickens. We each named a chicken and mine is named Betty, as in Betty Crocker. 🐓 The cake I’m holding in this photo is from our town’s bakery thymeintheranch - it’s a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting that I would fly 5,000 miles for. It’s just that good.
• My desert island food is bread and butter, can’t live without it. And if cocktails are served on said desert island I’ll have a blood orange margarita please. With salt.
• My dad is a geophysicist but I’m terrible at math. My daughters are brilliant at it however so let’s just go with the old saying that it skipped a generation.
• As for a baking fail, there are far too many to list. The cheesecake with a crater sized sinkhole, the rock hard gluten free scones that were like hockey pucks or the layer cake my kids dubbed the “noggin cake” because it looked like a head, are a few that come to mind. I have an irrational fear of making pie that I’m determined to conquer in 2019. Note to self: watch more pie tutorials from the dream duo thesweetandsimplekitchen and kelsey_thefarmersdaughter. #piegoals
