For #fridayintroductions, we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Don Campbell! Dr. Campbell is a professor of music and director of choral activities here at SWU, where he has worked since 1998. Prior to teaching at SWU, he taught vocal music for 20 years in California, traveled as a clinician to over 14 states and overseas, and now also serves as the conductor for the Chorale of the Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium (gamacanderson). Here’s a little more about him:
🗣What’s your favorite part about your job at SWU?
Of course, I love teaching the music majors at SWU, but I also love the freedom I have to teach students in the surrounding areas and internationally in the joys of singing.
🏤What’s your favorite place on campus?
My two favorite places are the rehearsal hall and my office in Newton Hobson. Both of these places reflect who I am and what I do!
🗺What’s a fun-fact about you most people wouldn’t know?
I have conducting students in Canada, the Netherlands, Scotland, England, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Colombia, Sweden, and of course many states in the U.S.

Dr. Campbell is such a bright face in SWU’s community. He has a heart for teaching and loving on students that most people strive to have.
