Over 50 people gathered during the Pushing for Justice Caravan for Javier Ambler in Georgetown on Saturday. Kimberly Ambler-Jones, the sister of Javier Ambler, lead the caravan in which cars drove past Williamson County Sheriff’s Office honking their horns in protest, decrying the death of Javier Ambler, who died after being tased by two Sheriff’s deputies while begging for his life as “Live PD” cameras filmed the incident on March 28, 2019. “I always say, if I was with him that night, the ‘Save me’ cries he let out - I would have saved him.” The gathering comes as nationwide protests continue to decry police brutality against Black and Brown bodies. “This is not a new narrative, we see the same headlines week after week with new names of Black Americans murdered at the hands of the police - now we are demanding accountability in Williamson County to end this cycle of violence,” she said. Since Javier’s death was revealed to the public, the show “Live PD” has been canceled.
