"Now that it has been exactly a year ago since our world was changed forever due to this pandemic, I have been spending a lot of time reflecting on my teaching career thus far. Starting in 2019 I was in my first student teaching class in a 5th grade classroom and I was just on cloud 9 every day. I had no idea how hard this job would truly become.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Though throughout the next year and a half, many (and I mean many) challenges were thrown my way; graduating and starting in a classroom in the middle of the year, having to figure out my own teaching style and behavior management tactics, learning how to teach virtually for the first time ever. I still find myself filled with that same excitement when I walk into my school building and that same feeling of giddy-ness, walking into my very own classroom, that I had that first year of teaching.⁠⁠

I want to share my story with you to let you know, if you are a teacher or thinking about going into the teaching profession, you are not alone. This is the least lonely profession out there, I assure you. Hundreds of thousands of teachers around the country have teamed up to support and inspire each other to keep going throughout this tough school year. We are in this together."⁠⁠
