#StudentSpotlight: Yan Liu, 2022 EMBA Consortium Participant, MBA '23

"Participating in the International Week of the #EMBA Consortium remains one of my most cherished memories. The journey not only allowed me to form lasting friendships with MBA candidates from around the world but also provided me with the opportunity to get to know my #SJSU peers who were visiting the same school.

As someone from a marketing background in the entertainment industry, I often find it challenging to make connections with relevant companies and resources in the technology-based environment of Silicon Valley. However, during my trip to Florida International University in Miami, I had the chance to visit Visa and a Design District real estate company, while also engaging with leaders from a diverse range of industries, including MLB and Sony Music.

These interactions enabled me to reflect on the industry I had been working in, ask thought-provoking questions, and gain valuable insights from the COO of Sony Music Latino. Furthermore, the academic focus on Customer Experience allowed me to explore my interests and strengths in this field, opening up new career path options for my future.”

Thank you, Yan, for sharing your experience with us! Click the link in our bio to become a #sjsubusiness Alumni/Student/Faculty/Staff Spotlight 🔥
