Rest in power.

“Daniel Hernandez was killed on April 22, 2020 by Officer Toni McBride. The Hernandez Family seeks justice from elected officials to punish Officer Toni McBride. Officer Toni McBride serves the Newton Division Area in South Central LA. Her father, Jamie McBride, is currently a director for the Los Angeles Police Protective League(LAPPL). He once served the Newton Division Area and boasted the nickname "Shootin' Newton" on shirts, sweatshirts and other apparel for officers to purchase. "Shootin' Newton" was given its nickname to decorate the title for most officer involved shootings in the area. Officer Toni McBride continues to serve on the force without punishment and promotes a private shooting range through contract of social media posts.”

Alex Flores was shot and killed by officers from the same “Shooting Newton” station. Non lethal weapons could have been used, but they weren’t. The community is still waiting for these officers to be held accountable for their actions.
