🇩🇪 Dachshunds originated in Germany.
🦡 They were bred to chase and flush out badgers and other ground dwellers (dachshund literally means “badger dog”).
📖 The breed's roots can be traced back more than 600 years.
📏 Dachshunds come in two sizes — standard and miniature — and three coat types, including smooth-haired, wirehaired and long-haired.
🎨 Famous artists like Pablo Picasso, who had a dachshund named Lump, and Andy Warhol, who had a pair named Archie and Amos, counted the breed as inspiration for some of their works.
