In 2008, the now-defunct Sussex Skyhawks defeated the Québec Capitals to win the canamleague championship. Coincidentally, the Sussex County Miners also beat the Capitales for the 2018 title. Skylands Stadium is now the home of three championship professional baseball teams (New Jersey Cardinals, 1994).
