Last night, the Miners defeated the Rockland Boulders, 6-2, in a rain-shortened game. The win gives Sussex County a 2.5 game lead for the fourth and final playoff spot. The wheelhousekitchenbar Miner of the Game, Carlos Lopez, went 4 for 4, scored a run, and drove in two. Newcomer C. J. Retherford hit a home run in his first Miner at-bat while Chase McDonald hit his ninth round-tripper of the season. Rubi Silva and Alexi Colon both picked up a pair of hits. Michael Tamburino tossed six strong innings and allowed only one earned run en route to his fifth win.
