Doing loads of reflecting today. I remember being told the internet would never be a thing, nothing good would happen from my pictures online, I would have no future in fashion, and that I would never be happy in life—those statements haunt me every single day—the greatest thing they ever did for me was not believe in me or make me feel worthy of love. I’ve spent my entire life trying to get approval or noticed...only to be constantly compared to others—who’s laughing now. I’m so happy. I own my own business. The internet actually took off. I design clothing and costumes anyways. People from all over the world recognize images of me and can connect with me on a deeper level. My internet presence has actually improved my business. It’s not all aesthetics either. It’s not all about my body or face. I have been in numerous magazines and on television discussing mental health and self empowerment. I am open and brutally honest about depression and my personal struggles so that others who suffer do not have to feel alone like I did. I’ve worked with countless youth programs and have spent my happiest times volunteering. Everyone should feel worthy of love and success. My life is nowhere near perfect—but I’ve never felt better or stronger. I used to cope by drinking or taking and abusing things to make me forget...it actually made it worse. This is why I am trying my hardest not to drink or do the other things. Channel the nay sayers into motivation. Change the way you think when someone says you can’t do something.
