To say that there is no racism in Canada is to erase the social inequalities, racial disparities, and systemic discrimination that founded this country. .

In Canada, this is a fight for both Black and Indigenous communities as their lives suffer the most from systemic racism. Income inequality, the education system and the criminal justice system continuously fail them and put their lives and health at risk. .

If you truly believe in this movement, make it more than a trend on social media. The Black Lives Matter Movement is more than just a hashtag or an Instagram challenge. But if you want to be challenged, I challenge you to use your discomfort as a sign to educate yourself; I challenge you to sign 10 BLM petitions; I challenge you to donate $10 to an organization that is combating systemic racism (link in bio); and I challenge you to read a book or article on racism in Canada. .
