#SummerXMoody: @utexasrtf senior Jazzy Anne just got back from #VidCon23 in Los Angeles, CA. Jazzy Anne has been creating content on YouTube since 2012, and being invited back to VidCon has been meaningful. She connected with other content creators and met some of her favorite YouTubers. “I’ve always wanted to be invited when I was in high school, and I just know that high school Jazzy would be so proud of me.”

“VidCon has been a cool experience for me because I’m surrounded by many other creators who do the same thing. They get it. There’s a whole different world of pacing and publicity that comes with being a creator on YouTube, and being in a space like this helps me feel seen— something that doesn’t always happen while I’m at school.”

#TEXASMoody has taught her to move forward with intention and believe in herself when facing self-doubt. “Moody has also shown me the importance of kindness and communication. A little bit of kindness can make a lasting impression. It’s also the easiest way to connect with people.”

A couple of months ago, along with @utaustintx friends, she created a “Meme Museum” pop-up featuring original memes. “I wanted to create an art event that specifically showcased the personalities of creative students at UT, that would also serve as a creative space for connection—in a way that never fails to bring people together, memes.”

She documented the process from start to finish to show behind-the-scenes and the group effort that went into creating the Meme Museum. Using her @utexasrtf skills, she directed and edited a documentary. This project is entirely student-made, and she is grateful to Professor Andrew Shea for encouraging her and teaching her to be a director. Jazzy Anne launched the documentary earlier this month, and it’s free on YouTube. Check it out if you’re looking for a fun doc to watch.
