The week leading up to the Blood Moon I set up a daily ritual of photographing the moon at the same time each night — it’s quite freeing to have a recurring appointment with a subject that is so completely outside of your control. Great training for photographing the natural world in which you rarely control anything except the composition and the time of day you make your images."
