I used them to test out new lighting setups in my studio, play about with composition, and try out new concepts. I was really missing the warm outdoors on this particular day, so I set up a fake forest in my tiny (470) square foot studio that has no natural light! Using a very inexpensive backdrop and about $50 worth of plastic flowers taped to light stands I was able to create depth and dimension so that it looked like the image was shot through trees and foliage. I paired that with an inexpensive faux fur coat, one backlight firing from over the backdrop to simulate the sun, and two v-flats to bounce the light back into my face and we were all set! I loved bringing the outside inside, and I look forward to using this setup with clients in the coming months."
