#BehindTheShot with #CanonExplorerOfLight dorn.bruce: "This past summer I had the pleasure of working with devinsupertramp's skydiving team as they shot wild video footage with pre-release samples of Canon’s new full-frame mirrorless offering, the EOS R. I was also shooting with the EOS R but I focused on stills. Since this was a triple-secret project, I only had an hour or two to familiarize myself with the new camera before all the craziness began but I was immediately comfortable and productive. I love the EOS R and the new lenses, too!

Along with my trusty EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM and my much-loved EF 11-24mm f/4L USM, I had three wonderful new Canon lenses at my disposal – the RF 24-105 F4 L IS USM, the EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM, and the EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM. A wonderful kit, no doubt, but I admit that lusted after the one lens that Devin sneakily commandeered at the very beginning of the day, the RF 28-70mm F2 L USM. As the resulting videos clearly show, he made very good use of it, indeed.

I was only able to pry it from Devin’s grasp during the waning light of our last shoot day as everyone was high-fiving and packing up to head home. The sun had dipped well below the horizon so I quickly snagged one of the skydivers and posed her in front of a jump plane. I really want to see how the lens looked wide-open so I immediately selected f/2.0 and twisted the zoom to 70mm. My ISO was already set to 320 and a quick test frame indicated that a shutter-speed of 1/640th would give me a good histogram. Perfect!

I only managed to crack off five frames of this lovely Adventure Girl but that was all it took to convince me that this is an amazing lens. I really love the creamy bokeh and amazing sharpness. Must. Have." Camera: #Canon EOS R
