Lightning at the launch pad 🌩️

As teams prepared for the launch of #Artemis I, lightning struck the Launch Pad 39B protection system on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at NASAKennedy Space Center in Florida. This image was included in the NASA Headquarters photographers’ collection of top 100 photos from 2022.

The Orion spacecraft aboard the Space Launch System rocket launched successfully on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022.
