Yesterday, three brave astronauts left Earth on a journey to the International Space Station (iss). 🚀⁣
⁣
Chris Cassidy (NASAAstronauts) and Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner (roscosmosofficial) launched in the Soyuz MS-16 at 4:05 a.m. EDT from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Following a four-orbit, six-hour flight, they docked to the station’s Poisk service module at 10:13 a.m. EDT.⁣
⁣
The crew members will live and work on the station until October of this year, the month of the 20th anniversary of the International Space Station. Work completed there is key to advancing scientific knowledge and demonstrating new technologies, making research breakthroughs not possible on Earth.⁣
