Here with a report on the next full moon -- the Guru Purnima, Hay Moon, Mead Moon, Honeymoon, Rose Moon, Buck Moon, or Thunder Moon.
It will occur just after midnight between Saturday July 8 and Sunday July 9, appearing "opposite" the Sun (in Earth-based longitude) at 12:07 AM EDT on Sunday morning, July 9, 2017. The moon will appear full for about three days centered on this time, from sunset on Friday through sunrise on Monday, making this a full moon weekend!
This shot was taken by an Expedition 14 crewmember onboard the International Space Station (ISS). Earth's horizon and airglow are visible at left.
